建立插圖來源檔案 (PVZ) 時會利用到用於管理 Windchill 中的 3D 來源資料以在 Creo Illustrate 中使用的一般機制。從來源 CAD 資料中，Windchill 會後發佈儲存在 Windchill 中排序第一的物件 (來源檔案)。Creo Illustrate 將會連結至此發佈後來源檔案。Creo Illustrate 檔案與已發佈輸出會入庫至 Windchill。Creo Illustrate - Windchill 連線透過 Creo Illustrate UI 與直接連線來管理。Windchill 端的組態透過 Windchill Visualization Services 處理。
