About Part Related Documents Report
The Part Related Documents report provides a way to view the type of document that is associated to parts in a service structure. Using this report, you can review the items in an information structure or publication structure that have been impacted by a part change and evaluate the changes that need to be made to each piece of content.
To view a Part Related Documents report, configure the following settings:
To view describing and reference documents in the Part Related Documents report, set the value of the respective filters to true. For more information about the properties for document filters, see About Part Document Filters.
In addition to these filters, collectAssociatedPartsRelatedDocs property also controls the display of part related documents. This property is disabled by default. To enable this property, add collectAssociatedPartsRelatedDocs to the wt.properties file and set its value to true. When set to true, you can view the associated documents of parts that were added under Impacted By tab in a service structure. When set to false, you can only view documents related to parts that were added to a parts list in a service structure.
To view a Part Related Documents report, select a service structure root. In Reports action set, click Reports > Part Related Documents.
Based on the value of filter options and the current filter, the Part Related Documents window displays the following tables:
Described By Documents
Type— Displays the icon that represents the type of service document.
Number— Specifies the number assigned to the describing document associated to parts.
Version— Specifies most recent version and view of the describing document.
Name— Specifies the name of the describing document.
Context— Specifies the name of the service structure as a link to the service structure.
State— Specifies the Life Cycle state of the part to which the describing document is associated.
Last Modified— Specifies the latest date and time of change in the describing document associated to a part.
Reference Documents
Type— Displays the icon that represents the type of service document.
Number— Specifies the number assigned to the reference document associated to parts.
Version— Specifies most recent version and view of the reference document.
Name— Specifies the name of the reference document.
Context— Specifies the name of the service structure as a link to the service structure.
State — Specifies the Life Cycle state of the part to which the reference document is associated.
Last Modified— Specifies the latest date and time of change in the reference document associated to a part.
To see the related parts to which the describing or reference document is associated across service structures, right-click a row in any of the tables in the report and click Related Part. The Related Part dialog box opens.
