The Related Parts Tab
The Related Parts tab is included in the Structure tab of the parts list information page. It includes tables in which you can manage Service Replacement relationships and links for a parts list item:
Replacements — Alternate parts and Substitute parts
Supplementary relationships
Supersede relationships

This tab is disabled if you have selected an illustration in the parts list structure tree.

Description
Remove
Removes a Replacement relationship for the selected part.
Add Alternate Part
Opens the Add Alternate window, in which you can search for a part that can be associated to the selected part with an Alternate relationship.
A part identified as an alternate is indicated by the An image of a gray cog icon in the table.
Add Substitute Part
Opens the Add Substitute window, in which you can search for a part that can be associated to the selected part with a Substitute relationship.
A part identified as a substitute is indicated by the An image of a blue cog icon in the table.

Add Supplementary Part - Usage
Opens the Add Supplementary Part window, in which you can search for a part that can be linked with the selected part in a Supplementary relationship.

Supersedes

Expand
Expands the Supersede relationship hierarchy for a part.
Collapse
Collapses the Supersede relationship hierarchy for a part.
The top level part in the hierarchy remains, which is the currently applicable part.
Supersede with Existing
Invokes the Supersede with Existing action.

Supersede with New
Invokes the Supersede with New action.
For more information, see Superseding a Part with a New Part.
Undo Supersede
Removes a Supersede relationship for the selected part.

A parts list item can display multiple Supersede relationships if a part can be superseded by a different part in certain circumstances, for example within specific serial number ranges. Each Supersede relationship is displayed in a historical hierarchy. Each superseding part is shown as the parent of the part it superseded, with the currently applicable part shown at the top of the hierarchy. You can expand and collapse the hierarchy for visibility purposes.
