Illustrations in a Parts List
Display in Parts List Structure
Use these options to make the illustrations associated with a parts list visible in the parts list structure tree.
Viewing action set in the Structure tab of the parts list’s information page — select Illustrations or use the Manage Related Information option
Context menu for parts list — select the Show/Hide Related Information option
A list of illustrations associated with a parts list is also provided in the Dynamic Documents table on the Related Objects tab for a parts list.
Illustrations added to a parts list appear at the top of the parts list structure tree, directly below the parts list object. Their order is determined by the value of their Print Order attribute (note: this is an optional attribute. No order can be guaranteed if the attribute is not set). Parts list items are listed below the illustrations.
You can set the Print View attribute to specify which figure from the graphic should appear when the parts list is published to a format that does not support intelligent graphics, i.e. PDF.
By default, an illustration displays the attributes exposed for a parts list — Number, Name, and Version attributes. Customize the view of the structure to access other graphic attributes, such as State (work state). See Customizing Table Views for information.
Display in Visualization Tab
Any illustrations added to a parts list can be viewed in the Visualization tab. There are two options:
From the parts list structure
Select an illustration in the parts list structure then select Open In > Display In Visualization Tab from the context menu.

Add new illustrations — see Add an Illustration to a Parts List for information
Remove illustrations — see Remove an Illustration from a Parts List for information
Reorder illustrations — set/change values of the Print Order attribute for the illustrations to define an order of display in the parts list
You are not permitted to drag and drop illustrations within a parts list.

You can use the Edit Item Attributes option to update standard type attributes: Format, Print Order, Print View, Graphic Ref.
Set Applicability for Parts List Illustrations
You can manage these types of applicability for the usage of an illustration in a parts list:
Options and choices configured with basic and advanced expressions
Standard and custom service effectivity
Select an illustration in a parts list structure and choose the Manage Applicability option from the context menu to open the Manage Applicability window.
See Applicability for Parts List Illustrations for information on setting applicability for parts list illustrations.
Once applicability has been configured for an illustration in a parts list, the settings are retained when the parts list is moved, revised, or saved as a new object. The settings are removed when the parts list is deleted.
If the content of a parts list is filtered with applicability filters, only those illustrations that meet the filter criteria are included when the parts list is viewed, exported, or published.
See Customizing Service Effectivity for information on creating custom service effectivity types.
See Manage Applicability for information on the Manage Applicability window.
