Windchill provides predefined, out-of-the-box reports in the areas of change management, project item status, and parts/products. Your company-specific custom reports can be created using Windchill Query Builder or the Windchill-integrated Jasper reports.

Use Windchill Query Builder if you would like to create very simple tabular reports and your site is not configured for third-party reporting tool, Windchill Business Reporting.

Windchill Business Reporting (WBR) is a new reporting framework that embeds Jasper library within the Windchill to provide out-of-the-box integration between Windchill and the embedded Jasper library. It also includes pre-built reports on change management, project items status, and parts/products.

To create tabular reports, visual and graphical reports, dashboard reports, and drill-down reports, use the optional third-party reporting authoring tool. This optional authoring tool also allows you to modify out-of-the-box reports. Using the authoring tool you can create new reports that include charts and graphs (Crosstabs, bar/3D bar, pie, gauge, funnel, scatter and more). The report data sources that are required for creating custom reports in report author tool can be created using Info*Engine report tasks and Query Builder templates.
