The basic architecture of Windchill Workgroup Manager Product Data Management (PDM) system consists of:
• An authoring application (CAD)
• Windchill Workgroup Manager
• A workspace on the server
• The Windchill database

Once the Windchill Workgroup Manager client is installed, you need to register your authoring application with Windchill Workgroup Manager in order to begin working with your design data.
