Access Control of Fidelities
The Fidelity Fallback Order preference is important when defining access control policies that deny access to specific fidelity subtypes for users or groups with in a domain. For example, if a user has been denied READ and DOWNLOAD access to the High Fidelity subtype in the product called Bicycle and the user has their Preferred Fidelity preference set to High Fidelity, when the user attempts to open a Multi-fidelity representation in the Creo View client that has a High Fidelity, no viewable content is loaded. In this case, if a Fidelity Fallback Order for High Fidelity had a value of com.ptc.FidelityLOW and the user had READ and DOWNLOAD access for the Low Fidelity, the viewable content from the Low Fidelity is loaded.
For information about access control and defining access control policies for Fidelity and Fidelity subtypes, see Policy Administration.
