Training Tracking Function Overview
From Windchill 12.0.1.0 release, the training tasks are controlled only through groups and group membership. The ability to create training records for users and organizations is disabled but the Training Records table displays the training documents for both, users and organization.
The training records can be created for group members and nested groups (groups within groups) of the top-level group for which the training record was created. When creating new training records for expired and revised documents, the users must have membership in a group that has a training record for the target document.
If you are upgrading from Windchill 11.X to 12.0.1.0, add users who have existing training records to a group that has a Required training record for the document referenced on the existing training record. If you do not perform this step before a Windchill upgrade, the users who are not part of any group will not be able to use or access the training records that have been revised after the upgrade. Adding users to the groups after an upgrade may not work. Additionally, the individual user’s training will appear as cancelled even if the user has completed the training and had a valid record.
