Administration of Terminal States for Quality Management Objects
To control the behavior of quality management objects, administrators can set terminal states, lock associated annotations, and set resolution dates.

Setting Terminal States
You can manually set terminal states in the Canceled States and Completed States fields in the Type and Attribute Management utility for quality management objects.
The Canceled States field defaults to Cancelled. If the object does not have a canceled state, the Canceled States field defaults to a blank value. The Completed States field defaults to Closed or Closure, depending on the state of the object defined in the life cycle.
You can change these values, or you can add multiple values separated by commas in the Canceled States and Completed States fields.
If you have administrative privileges, you can manually terminate quality management processes at any time.
If you have Set State permission, you can manually terminate quality management processes using the Set State functionality.
Preferences
Two preferences help with the configuration of terminal states. These preferences are in the Change Management category of the Preference Management utility.
The Lock Annotations preference controls if the associated annotations cannot be modified when a quality management object is terminated. To enable this functionality, set the value of the Lock Annotations preference to Yes.
The Set Resolution Date preference controls if the Resolution Date field updates to the date and time that a quality management object is set to a terminal state. Examples of terminal states include approved, rejected, resolved, and canceled. To enable this functionality, set the value of the Set Resolution Date preference to Yes.
