Using QuickView for Visualization
QuickView enables you to visualize large structures quickly and effectively. You can generate, load, and interact with high-quality thumbnails for parts, resources, and their subtypes in various MPMLink browsers as listed below. Preferences
To load thumbnail in the Visualization tab, set the user-level preference related to your browser to Yes. The user-level preferences for different browsers are available under Preference Management > Visualization > Dynamic Structure > QuickView.
Enable BOM Transformer Browser/SAPSB to load in QuickView
Enable Manufacturing Resource Browser to load in QuickView
Enable Process Plan Browser to load in QuickView
Actions
The following actions for QuickView are displayed in your browser if the related preference is enabled.
View status of thumbnails: Use the QuickView column. This column can be displayed by customizing the column view in the supported browsers. The column shows Loaded if the thumbnail is loaded, Available if the thumbnail is not yet loaded, or blank if the thumbnail is not available.
View thumbnails: Use any of the following actions under the QuickView right-click menu.
Expand QuickView to Next level: Unloads QuickView thumbnail and expands complete structure of the selected node till the next QuickView thumbnail node.
Expand QuickView to Full Details: Unloads QuickView thumbnail and expands complete structure of the selected node till the end (last leaf node).
Collapse to QuickView: Unloads representation of complete structure, and loads QuickView thumbnail if available.
Generate QuickView: Creates a QuickView thumbnail.
Key Points
Consider that QuickView is generated for Assembly A. The QuickView column for Assembly A shows Loaded if the thumbnail is loaded orAvailable if the thumbnail is not yet loaded. After this, if you make any changes to Assembly A, Quickview is unloaded from visualization and the QuickView column shows blank.
The following actions related to QuickView are not available in the process plan browser:
Expand QuickView to Next level
Expand QuickView to Full Details
Collapse to QuickView
Limitations
In the BOM Transformer, it is recommended not to use the QuickView column.
In the Process Plan Browser, you can use the Generate QuickView action only on parts.
You cannot use the QuickView actions when working with the model items (annotations).
You must reload the BOM Transformer after a structure update. Consider that QuickView is generated for Assembly A. The QuickView column for Assembly A shows Loaded if the thumbnail is loaded or Available if the thumbnail is not yet loaded. After this, if you make any changes to Assembly A, the Quickview thumbnail is unloaded from visualization, and the QuickView column shows blank. For all the subassemblies below Assembly A, the QuickView thumbnail is unloaded. In this case, you must reload the BOM Transformer to load the QuickView thumbnail for the subassemblies below Assembly A.
In the BOM Transformer, it is recommended not to use the View Equivalent Occurrence Status action when working with the QuickView features and actions.
