Object Type
|
Description
|
---|---|
Objects created in the project context
|
The object is added to the product or library baseline. Use the Collect Objects and Set Options table to determine whether objects are shared back to the project or to perform a PDM checkout operation.
|
Objects created in PDM and checked out to a project
|
This results in the following actions:
• The latest iteration of the project-specific version is copied as the latest iteration of the original object.
• You can keep the object checked out to the project. Otherwise, the original object is unlocked in PDM and the latest version is shared back to the project.
• If you send a CAD document and a build rule exists between the CAD document version and a part version, an EPM build is performed.
|
|
You cannot send deprecated or abandoned objects to PDM, or any objects related to a deprecated or abandoned object. For more information, see Managing PDM Checkout Objects.
|
Setting the Folder Contents table view to Candidates for PDM Checkin displays all objects in the folder that can be sent to PDM. |
Column | Description |
---|---|
Number | When you create an object in a project and send it to PDM, a new object number might be assigned. • If the numbering scheme for the PDM context is set to manual, you can enter a number into this field. • If the numbering scheme for the PDM context is set to automatic, the object number is automatically generated. • If the number generation is the same in both contexts, the object keeps the number that is assigned in the source project. |
Name | Identifies the name of the object. If the object was created in the project, you can rename it using this field. |
Version | The version and iteration of the object being checked in. |
Selected Action | Identifies the action to be taken on this object when you click OK. You set this action by selecting the checkbox next to an object and clicking the icons in the table toolbar. |
PDM Location | Identifies the PDM context of the object. This field is blank if the object has been created in the project. You can specify a new PDM location under the Set Object Attributes step. |
Collection Rule | Specifies the collection rule that applies to each object. For example, the objects you selected before launching the action are considered Initially Selected objects. Hover over the collection rule to view a message that provides information about additional object relationships. For more information, see Collect Objects Table for Sharing. |
Action | Description |
---|---|
PDM Checkin | The object is sent to PDM and a shared version remains visible in the project. For information about ad hoc access control permissions set on the resulting shared version, see Setting Access Control on a Shared Object. |
Keep Checked Out | The object is sent to PDM and then checked out again to the project. Ad hoc access control permissions on the resulting checked-out object match the permissions set on the latest object iteration before it was sent to PDM. These permissions have the source designation Access Control. |
Collect objects that are dependent or associated to the selected object. | |
Remove Selected Objects | Remove selected objects from the table. |
