Collecting in Advanced Mode
The Advanced mode of object collection allows you to specify collection rules and look for related objects. When you use Advanced mode, you see collected objects displayed in a table. Once an object is populated in the table, it can become the root object for further collection.
Many operations use only a single collection mode, but some present a tabbed view, allowing you to switch from one mode to the other. If you switch from Basic mode to Advanced mode, the initially selected objects are displayed along with any objects gathered from the collection rules specified in the Rule mode.

If both the Basic and Advanced tabs appear, you can move from Basic to Advanced, but if you change the configuration criteria or rule criteria, data may be lost. Data can also be lost if you change one or more rules and then move from Advanced to Basic. A window appears, allowing you to confirm that you want to move to the Basic mode or to cancel the action.
You can customize the collector toolbar to collect the objects associated with the configurable links or remove PTC provided controls.

Typically, the system uses the configuration of the object initially selected for the action. Just below the Current Settings field are controls that let you apply filters to the object (which may often be a structure). The controls are described in the following table.

Opens the Filter Properties window, displaying the current dependency processing, including the Type and Details.
(Edit filter)
Opens the Edit Filter window, allowing you to edit the filter applied to the selected structure.

The following actions may be available from the collector table:

Depending on the action you are performing, you may only see some of the action options in the following table. Depending on the action you are performing, other menus, such as File and Edit may appear in the menu bar to allow you to make other operation-specific selections. Additional actions may also appear in the collector table toolbar, depending on the operation that you are performing.

Configuration
Select configuration options for the collection (for example, Configuration > Dependents > All). The configuration option currently selected is reported in the Current Settings field, above the table of objects.
Add Dependency
Specify which types of dependents are to be included. You may be able to choose All, Required or None, depending on the initially selected object type.
The Add Dependency action is available from the Configuration menu on the table.
Click the advanced collection icon to open the Advanced Add window that allows you to collect certain additional object types (for example, source and derived CAD documents).
Click the add parts icon to collect parts associated to the selected object.
Click the add drawings icon to collect all drawings associated to the selected part or CAD document.

This action does not apply to other types of documents.
Click the add family objects icon to collect all family table objects related to the selected generic or instance.

This action only applies to CAD documents.
Click the add generics icon to collect the generic associated to selected instances.
* 
This action only applies to CAD documents.
Click the add CAD/dynamic documents icon to collect all CAD or dynamic documents associated to the selected part.
Click the Collect related Enterprise Data objects icon to collect the common and view-specific enterprise data for the selected part.
Click the Collect related Functional Data objects icon to collect any plant-specific functional data for the selected view-specific enterprise data object or part.

This action is enabled only if the All or Initially Selected Only option is selected for the preference Include related Plant Specific Functional Data objects. The preference is available at the following locations:
Add to Baseline > Collector
Operation > Set State > Collector
Revise > Collector
Promotion Process > Collector
Change Management > Collector > Affected Object Collector
Change Management > Collector > Resulting Object Collector
Click the add documents icon to collect all documents related to the selected object.
Click the add affected data icon to collect all affected data related to a selected change object. This applies for change objects that can have affected data, such as problem reports, analysis activities, change requests, and change activities.
Click the add change objects icon to open a window that allows you to select which type of change object you want to collect. For more information, see the help available from that window.
Click the add notes icon to collect all notes related to the selected object.
Click the Collect Related Process Plan icon to collect the latest version of the process plan associated with the selected part version.
Click the add specifications members icon to collect all specifications members related to the selected object.
Click the add upstream linked objects icon to collect all upstream linked objects related to the selected object.
Click the add downstream linked objects icon to collect all downstream linked objects related to the selected object.
Click the remove icon to remove selected objects from the table.
Click the include icon to include selected objects in the collection.
Click the exclude icon to exclude selected objects from the collection.
Click the reset icon to reset the collection to the initially selected objects. If you reset your collection, all additionally collected objects are removed from the entire table.
When you select this action, a warning message appears explaining that all data collected will be lost.
Ignore objects in other contexts
This check box may appear below the collection table for some collection processes. When selected, only the objects located in the context of the seed objects are collected.

If you change the value of this check box, a window appears explaining that all data collected will be lost. The window allows you to confirm or cancel the recollection.

The part, drawing, and CAD document icons are present in all collection tables. The other actions appear as appropriate for the operation you are performing.

The Collection Rule column can be helpful by identifying the reason (rule) that caused an object to appear in the table. If a single rule applies to an object, that rule is displayed. If multiple rules apply (for example when an object is initially selected for an action and is also a dependent of another initially-selected object), then Multiple Rules is displayed. When you hover your cursor over text displayed in the Multiple Rules column, a tool-tip pops up, listing the applicable rules for the object in that row.
Clicking the table display options button allows you to choose to view only objects whose row check box is selected.
To complete the collection process using the Advanced mode, click OK to commit the action, or Next if there are more steps in the operation you are performing.

If the object set for which you are attempting to perform the transaction has issues that prevent a successful transaction, the Event Management utility opens, reporting on the status of the transaction. Use the Event Management page and the Conflict Management page to resolve overridable conflicts and retry the operation.
