Save Modified Instances (SOLIDWORKS)
The Save Modified Instances command allows you to tell Windchill that modifications have been made to individual SOLIDWORKS Configurations that have been exposed to Windchill as Family Table instances. The reason for this command is that SOLIDWORKS has no way of understanding which individual Configurations have been modified — it only knows that the file has been modified. Therefore, this mechanism enables you to tell the Windchill Workgroup Manager which Configurations have been modified, so that Windchill can correctly record changes to individual Family Table instances.
The
Save Modified Instances command is only active when the
Independently Modify Instances preference is set to
Yes,
and the active
SOLIDWORKS model contains Configurations that have been exposed to
Windchill; otherwise, the command will be greyed out. In
SOLIDWORKS, select > to access this command. See
Independently Modifying Instances for more information.
