Setting up Subjects for a Regulatory Submission
The subject of a Regulatory Submission represents the traceable object for which the submission is being made. Depending on the type of Regulatory Submission and the rules of the Regulatory Agency, multiple subjects are permitted. The subject object types that support versions are traceable to specific versions of the object. The Regulatory Submissions that are assigned to the subjects can be viewed on their corresponding Regulatory Submissions table.
The Regulatory Submission Subject association type is linked to the different regulatory submission types by default. This link determines the availability of the Assign Subjects tab when you are creating or editing regulatory submissions. You can define specific rules for the different regulatory submission subtypes that you create. PTC recommends that you define specific rules for the different custom regulatory submission subtypes. The Subject Picker window displays only the eligible parts, places, customer experiences, or regulatory decisions depending on the association rule. The supported cardinality is 1:1, 1:many, many:1, or many:many.
For information on defining association rules, see Association Rules. For information on the association rules table, see Association Rules Table.
