Displaying Attribute Values with Units
You can select a measurement system to use when displaying attribute values. Units are displayed when using the Real Number with Unit attribute type.
1. From the Preference Management utility, select Attribute Handling.
2. Right-click the Measurement System preference and select Set Preference.
3. Select one of the following values:
CGS—Centimeter-gram-second
Display units using a variation of the metric system. For example:
Centimeter (cm)—Length
Gram (g)—Mass
Second (s)—Time
Ampere (A)—Electric current
MKS
Display units using a variation of the metric system. For example:
Centimeter (cm)—Length
Gram (kg)—Mass
Second (s)—Time
Ampere (A)—Electric current
SI—International System of Units
Display units using the standard metric system. For example:
Meter (m)—Length
Kilogram (kg)—Mass
Second (s)—Time
Ampere (A)—Electric current
For more information, see Base Measures and Units.
USCS—United States Customary System
Display units using the standard metric system. For example:
Inch (in)—Length
Pound (lbs-mass)—Mass
Second (s)—Time
Ampere (A)—Electric current

The measurement system you display can be different than the base unit associated with an attribute. However, when performing a search using the attribute value, Windchill automatically converts the value to the base unit when performing the search. Additionally, a range is applied that, when rounded, is equal to the value you supplied. For example, searching for a value of .0125 returns results from .01245 to .01255.
When searching for a precise value, this might lead to unexpected results. For more information on how rounding is applied, see the NumericToolkit documentation in the Windchill Javadoc.
