Owning Organization Mapping
The Owning Organization tab, which is available on the Define Mapping window, allows you to define translations of an owning organization from the source system to an organization on your Windchill system. You can define the owning organization mapping for each source system with which your Windchill system interacts. For more information, see .
*
The owning organization mapping can only be set at the organization or site context level. For more information about setting the context level, see Defining Received Delivery Mapping and Context Mapping.
Field
Description
Source Organization ID\Name
Lists the source organization information. The value you specify can either be the organization name or the organization identifier, such as a CAGE code. This value must match the source system context exactly.
*
You can copy the source owning organization value from the Preview Received Delivery Import window.
Mapped Organization
Lists the owning organization to which imported objects from the source system belong.
To set the mapped owning organization, click the find icon . The Organization window opens, which allows you to search for the appropriate organization.
Context
Lists the context in which the values for this row were set.
Locked
Indicates whether the values can be modified in lower contexts. For example, if a row is locked in the site context, it cannot be changed in an organization. The value could be modified at the site context level.
Unlike most attributes, the owning organization can be matched by two different attributes. Windchill first attempts to match owning organization by the combined organization identifier type and organization identifier value. For example, the organization identifier type may be CAGE Code with a value of 12345. If no match is found using the organization identifier information, the organization name is used.
