Publishing a Variant Specification
When a variant is created in a part structure, Windchill stores the option choices and parameter inputs in a variant specification and associates it with the variant. A variant specification is a collection of inputs and selections specified for a configurable structure in preparation for creating a variant.
For more information about variant specification, see Variant Specification Information Page.
These variant specifications can be published in the ESI response using the ERP Connector along with the part information when the BOM is published. The variant specification is published only if the distribution target attribute Publish the Associated Variant Specification when Publishing an Object is set to Yes. The default value of this attribute is No.
Following configuration specifications for a variant specification are published in the ESI response:
Latest
As Matured
Unit Effectivity
Promotion Request
Date Effectivity
Baseline
The option filter and attribute filter for a variant specification are also published in the ESI response.
*
The variant specification information is always published in the Added Product Configuration section of the ESI response.
You must develop your own middleware customization for SAP or Oracle ERP systems for consuming the ESI response generated by ERP Connector.
Refer to ERP Connector Customizer's Guide on PTC.com to know more about customizing the variant specification and filter in the ESI response for variant specification.
