Editing a Variance
You can edit a variance in the following ways:
Select Edit from the row action menu of a variance in the Issues and Variances table associated with the affected object of the variance.
Select Edit from the row action menu of a variance in the Variances table found from Changes > Variances.
Select Edit from the actions menu of the information page of the variance.
The Edit Variance window divides the editing of a variance into the following steps:
1. Set Attributes—Provides the descriptive attributes associated with the variance.
2. Define Impact—Specifies the business impact of the variance; including corrective action, effect on cost, effect on schedule, and effect on support.
3. Select Affected End Items—Provides the identification of the end items that are affected by the variance.
4. Select Affected Objects—Identifies the affected local objects such as parts, documents, and other changeable and external objects that are involved with the variance.
5. Set Attachments—Manages associated file attachments. Files in the context of the variance can be added, updated, deleted, or viewed.
6. Select Associations—Identifies associated process and reference objects. The process and reference objects support local and external objects.
