Setting Up Your Browser
To begin, ensure that you are using a Web browser and Java plug-in version supported by Windchill.
For information on the combinations of platforms, PTC products, and third-party products supported with this release, see the Release Matrix for the relevant Windchill+ version available in the Product Release Calendar.
Additional considerations:
If an Unsupported Browser Mode error message appears when you open Windchill, your company may have set your browser to a mode incompatible with Windchill. To return to a default browser configuration, see your system administrator.
If you have enabled Java Web Start using the Preference Management utility, and you are running Windchill on a UNIX platform, you may be prompted to select a helper application when launching an explorer. Select javaws.
Browser Locale Settings
*
Windchill Language Configuration settings override the browser locale settings for the user interface language of the Windchill system. For more information, see Windchill User Language Configuration.
Ensure that your browser locale is set to a language supported by Windchill:
Brazilian Portuguese
Chinese Simplified (zh-CN)
Chinese Traditional (zh-TW)
English (en_US, en_GB)
French (fr)
German (de)
Italian (it)
Japanese (ja)
Korean (ko)
Spanish (es)
Russian (ru)
To set your browser's locale, follow the instructions provided by your browser.
Pop-Up Blocker Interference
Many web browsers and third-party applications include pop-up blockers to prevent unwanted pop-ups. However, these blockers can interfere with certain Windchill operations that require new windows to open, such as downloading object content. To avoid pop-up blocker interference in a browser, add your Windchill server domain to the list of allowed sites. For instance, if your Windchill home page URL is https://mycompanyurl.ptcmscloud.com/Windchill/, add https://mycompanyurl.ptcmscloud.com to the allowed sites. For instructions on how to add a URL to the list of allowed sites, refer to the following links:
