Creating a Process Plan
You can create a new process plan from the following two locations:
• Folder browser page of a product
• Process Plan tab in BOM Transformer
1. In the
Actions list, select > . The
New Process Plan dialog box opens. Alternatively, you can click
Insert New in the
Process Plan tab in BOM Transformer to open the
New Process Plan dialog box.
2. Specify the following details for a process plan:
◦ In Generic Process Plan list, select the appropriate options. If you select No, the system creates a generated process plan. If you select Yes, the system creates a generic process plan.
| The default value of the Generic Process Plan list is set to No. |
◦ In Name, enter a name for the process plan.
◦ In Location, click Autoselect Folder if you want the process plan to be created in the product folder from which you launched the action. Otherwise, click Select Folder and enter a path to an alternate folder.
◦ In Unit and Standard lists, select the appropriate options.
◦ In Occurrence Allocation From Any Level list, select Yes or No. Select Yes to allow allocation of child parts to operations in process plan.
3. Optionally, enter values in the Category, Number, Description, Long Description, View fields for the process plan.

4. Optionally, select the Keep checked out after checkin checkbox to immediately check out the new process plan.
5. Click OK.
On the folder browser page, a confirmation message is displayed indicating that the process plan is created.
When you create a process plan using Process Plan tab in BOM Transformer, the process plan takes on the attributes of the part selected in BOM Transformer (such as Base Unit of Measure) and is automatically related to the part.

Creating a Process Plan from Part Information Page
The Process Plans table available on the Related Objects tab of an information page of a part displays the following actions:
• Insert New — Use this action to create a process plan. When you click Insert New, the New Process Plan dialog box opens. After completing the process plan creation, the new process plan appears in the Process Plans table of the information page of a part. The system displays only the latest iteration of the process plan.
• Remove — Use this action to remove an associated process plan.
| You cannot remove process plans that are linked to a co-produce or made-from set part from the part information page. You can remove these plans using BOM Transformer. |
