About Delete
The Delete action allows you to remove objects from the database. This can be especially useful if errors are made at the time of object creation. You can delete versioned and non-versioned business objects. For some objects, you can specify which versions will be deleted from the database.
When an object is deleted, all associated object-to-object and object-to-version links are also deleted. If a master object is deleted, links to that master are deleted. You must have the proper access control permissions to delete the object. Messages appear when errors are encountered. For information on the procedure, see Deleting an Object.
Comparison of Delete and Remove
Delete permanently removes selected business objects or object versions from the Windchill database.
Remove, often accomplished using the remove icon, removes the object from the selected location and often removes an object relationship. For example, if you remove a part from a structure, the part is no longer in the structure but remains an object in Windchill.
*
You can delete the latest object versions of checked-in objects. Individual iterations cannot be deleted, except for the latest iteration.
