PDM Action Availability (CATIA V5)
When CATIA V5 is connected to Windchill Workgroup Manager, some PDM actions become active in CATIA V5 (for example, Check In and Check Out). If a PDM action does not apply to the item that is selected, the action is unavailable.
Following are lists of supported PDM actions and the areas from which they are available:
• Available only from CATIA V5:

◦ Save—Use of this action is not recommended when connected to Windchill Workgroup Manager.
◦ Save As—Use of this action is not recommended when connected to Windchill Workgroup Manager.
◦ Open from Windchill
◦ Insert Component from Windchill
◦ Insert New CAD Document
◦ Replace Component from Windchill
◦ Save to Workspace
◦ View Information
• Available from both CATIA V5 and the Windchill Workgroup Manager embedded browser:
◦ New CAD Document
◦ Check In
◦ Check Out
◦ Revise and Check Out
◦ Undo Checkout
◦ Update
• Available only from the Windchill Workgroup Manager embedded browser:

Most PDM actions are also available on the right-click pop-up menu. However, right-click actions are only applicable to CATProducts, CATParts, and CATDrawings.
