Import and Export Translation Packages in Bulk
You can bulk import and export translation packages by using preconfigured Azure Blob Storage containers for (Virtual File System) VFS. For more information on VFS, see
Virtual File System for Input/Output Capability in Windchill.
Configuration Steps
Follow the steps to enable bulk translation import and export.
1. Set the External Import Folder preference using one of the following formats. The value must include the container and folder path.
◦ Required format: SIMSP/Translation/Import
The translation import service looks for translated packages in the Import folder.
◦ Optional format: SIMSP/Translation/Import/Vendor1
The translation import service looks for translated packages in the Vendor1 subfolder.
2. Set the Supported Vendors preference to define the vendor name and export folder structure.
Required format: Vendor_Name_A|SIMSP/Translation/Export_FolderA
◦ You can change the vendor name (for example, Vendor_Name_B) and the export folder name (for example, Export_FolderB or Export/FolderC). The new structure would be Vendor_Name_B|SIMSP/Translation/Export_FolderB or Vendor_Name_B|SIMSP/Translation/Export/FolderC.
◦ You must not change the |SIMSP/Translation/Export portion of the path.

To support import and export for multiple vendors, you can create multiple subfolders and set the preferences accordingly

Translation Export and Import Behavior
• After a successful export, the translation package is available in the specified Azure Blob Storage export folder and can be provided to the translation vendor for translation.
• Translated packages can be placed in the import folder on Azure Blob Storage, from where they are imported automatically. The translation import service automatically detects and imports translation packages from the configured Import folder in Azure Blob Storage. Any import error logs are stored in the same folder.
