Visualization Updates in the Process Plan Browser (PPB)
The updates are introduced to address visualization inconsistencies in the Process Plan Browser (PPB), with a specific focus on the image link feature, flexible assembly representation, and default visualization in Creo View and Creo Illustrate. These changes aim to align PPB with BOM Transformer, PSB, and CAD environments, improving clarity and reducing errors on the shop floor.

The system supports features like image link, flexible assembly, and flexible representation for specific use cases. These features work effectively in supported scenarios. Supported scenarios include specific use cases related to the multibody, harness, and inseparable assemblies.
|
The following are the updates:
• Image links created for leaf-level parts are reflected in the Visualization tab when allocated to operations. Consider the following example: An image link is created for a multibody part that is at the leaf level. When you assign the leaf-level part to any operation in the process plan, then the correct visualization is displayed in the in Visualization tab.
• Image link functionality supports all the following allocation methods: assembly level, leaf level, from tree picker structure, and from 3D tree picker visualization.
• For specific use cases, the default representation of the operated-on parts, which contain flexible assembly features, opens correctly in Creo View. Default representations created for operated-on parts with assembly features are visible in Creo View. Such representations are now accessible and editable. Consider the following points:
◦ The system supports flexible assembly features in Creo View for operations when:
▪ You open the default representation of an operation that includes a reference operated on part containing a flexible assembly feature during playback.
▪ You open the default structure of such an operation during playback.
▪ You update the default representation or annotation using the > action, adding a reference operated on part containing a flexible assembly feature.
◦ The system supports flexible assembly features in Creo Illustrate for operations when:
▪ You create a new illustration for an operation that includes a reference operated on part containing a flexible assembly feature.
▪ You update an existing illustration for such an operation.
▪ You open an existing illustration using the Open in Creo Illustrate action from the Reference Documents tab.

• The system supports image association of parts for specific use cases. For all other scenarios, image association is currently limited in functionality. The supported use cases include list all allocations with multibody parts, load allocations, and so on.
• Not all part types are supported. Visualization does not apply to inseparable, harness, or multibody parts when reused as operated-on parts.
• Scenarios involving eBOM to mBOM transformations that require the image link feature are not supported if the mBOM structure does not support image link associations.
