Open Creo Elements/Direct Drawings in Windchill with Drafting Workgroup Manager
You can open drawings created in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Annotation from the Windchill Workgroup Manager.
You can also open drawing frames created in Annotation from Windchill Workgroup Manager. In addition, you can open drawings or frames that are updated in Annotation, from Windchill Workgroup Manager by performing the following steps:
1. Open an Annotation drawing (with or without a frame) from Windchill Workgroup Manager, for example, version A0.
2. Update the drawing or frame in Annotation. In Annotation, you can use an Annotation frame or a Drafting frame.
3. Check in the updated drawing to Windchill Workgroup Manager to create another version, for example A1.
4. Open the updated or modified drawing (.mi) in Drafting from Windchill Workgroup Manager. The updated or modified drawing and frame (version A1) is available in Drafting.

If you modify an Annotation drawing frame in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Annotation, and then open the drawing in Drafting through Windchill Workgroup Manager, the modified frame is available in Drafting.

Opening an Annotation Drawing from Windchill Workgroup Manager
To open an Annotation drawing from Windchill Workgroup Manager, perform the following steps:
1. In
Creo Elements/Direct Drafting, click > . The
Open from Windchill window opens. For more information, see
Load File from Windchill.
2. In the Type list, click All Files (*) to display Annotation and Drafting mi files (drawings).

In the Type list, select PTC Creo Elements/Direct Drafting Files (.mi) to display only the Drafting (mi) drawings or files.

3. Select the Annotation drawing (.mi) or file and click OK. The Annotation drawing appears in the Drafting viewport.
Alternatively, in your Windchill Workgroup Manager workspace, right-click the Annotation drawing and on the actions menu, click > . The Annotation drawing appears in the Drafting viewport.
Open an Annotation frame or a Drafting frame (.mi) from Windchill Workgroup Manager
To open an Annotation or a Drafting frame from Windchill Workgroup Manager, perform the following steps:
1. In
Creo Elements/Direct Drafting, click > > . The
Open from Windchill window opens. For more information, see
Load Frame from Windchill.
2. In the Type list,
◦ For Annotation frames, click Annotation Frames (.mi).
◦ For Drafting frames, click Drafting Frames (.mi).
3. Select the Annotation or Drafting frames and click OK.
