New Textual Information Element
The New Textual Information Element dialog box allows you to insert one or more new textual information elements in the currently selected object of the service structure.
All textual information elements must have an authoring language. There are a few ways to be sure one is assigned:
Choose an Authoring Language in the dialog box.
Choose a Template with a defined authoring language.
*
An alternative is to upload a dynamic document with a valid language set for the PTC_DD_LANGUAGE attribute, which is used to determine the Authoring Language. This method is not handled by New Textual Information Element. Refer to Arbortext Editor documentation for information.
Field

Product
Displays the name of the current product.
Type
(Required) Choose the Dynamic Document object type. If subtypes are configured, they appear in the list.
Authoring Language

Choosing an authoring language filters the list of Template choices you can choose from.
You can skip Authoring Language and choose a Template that has an Authoring Language assigned to it instead. Choosing such a template populates the Authoring Language.
If you choose an Authoring Language with no associated templates, the field displays No Templates Available.
Template
(Required) Choose a template. If only one template is available, it is automatically selected. If more than one exists, then you can choose from the templates listed, which are based on the Type previously selected.
If you selected an Authoring Language, you see only the templates associated with it.
If you leave Authoring Language blank, you can still be presented with Select a Template. Choosing a template automatically selects the Authoring Language.
If the selected template doesn’t have an authoring language associated with it, you are asked to choose one when you try to create the information element.
If no templates exist for a selected Authoring Language, No Templates Available is displayed, and you are not able to create a textual information element.
For more information, see Managing Dynamic Document Templates.

If object numbering is automatically generated in your system, then the value can be (Generated). Otherwise, enter an object identifier number.

The following locations are available:
Before – Insert the information element before the object selected.
After – Insert the information element after the object selected.
As First Child – Insert the information element as the first object in the hierarchy of the selected object.
As Last Child – Insert the information element as the last object in the hierarchy of the selected object.
Keep checked out after checkin
Check this box to keep the information element checked out to you after you create it.
Insert
Inserts the new textual information element into the service structure relative to the location selected when you opened this dialog box. After you click Insert, a banner displays a confirmation message. Then the Name and Description fields are cleared, and you can continue to enter the criteria for another textual information element.
*
If you change the location highlight in the service structure after you click Insert, the location for the insertion of the next information element does not change.
All information elements created during your current session are inserted relative to the pre-selected location. To change to a different location, close this dialog box, choose your next location in the service structure, and open New Textual Information Element again.
OK
Inserts the new textual information element into the service structure and closes this dialog box.
Cancel
If you are creating a single information element, this choice abandons all selections and closes the dialog box.
If you have previously inserted one or more information elements, Cancel only closes this dialog box. The information elements you already created persists.
