Collecting Objects Associated with Parts Lists
When moving, deleting, or revising an object, you can choose to include any of its associated parts lists, illustrations, parts list items, BOMs, or content holders in the same action.
1. In the Move , Delete, or Revise windows, select the Collect Related Service Objects button Collect Related Service Objects icon from the toolbar.
2. The SIM Collector window opens. Different options are available in the window, depending on the type of object for which it was originally opened:
If the object is a parts list, see the Collect Related Parts List Objects section in the window. You have the option to collect four types of object related to the parts list:
Illustrations
Parts list items
BOMs
Content holders
These sections are only visible in the SIM Collector window if Windchill Service Parts is installed.
If the object is a part, illustration, or content holder, see the Collect Related Part Objects section in the window. You have the option to collect two types of object related to the selected object:
Parts lists
Structure (information structure / publication structure) objects
3. Select the required object type or types then click OK. Any related objects of the selected types are displayed in the Object List table.
You can vary the display of the table with the drop down menu at the top of it. The default display of the table is controlled by the Display collected objects preference, and its value is displayed as the title for the drop down list, for example As a List. Refer to Setting Service Preferences for further information.
4. Select the required related objects from the table. The selected objects are included when the Revise, Move, or Delete action is completed.
Objects related to parts or parts lists can also be collected when creating change objects as part of the Windchill change process:

When saving a parts list as a new object, you can choose to include any of its associated illustrations. In the Save As window, select the Collect related Illustrations button Collect related Illustrations from the toolbar. Any illustrations related to the parts list are displayed in the object table. Select required illustrations from the list to include them when the Save As operation is completed.
The Include related illustrations preference controls whether illustrations are collected by default during a Save As action. Refer to Setting Service Preferences for further information.
