Materials
The materials use case allows a vendor to access given materials. This use case assumes that the vendor is also associated to a supplier object. If the vendor is not associated to a supplier, then they cannot view any materials.
Setup
The following rules apply to the materials use case:
The VendorPortal.properties file controls which attribute on the supplier object provides access to user groups.
The property setting internal name must match the internal name in the Type and Attribute Management utility.
The attribute must be a text attribute.
The supplier object must be linked to a material by adding a source (supplier) to a given material, creating a material supplier relationship.
The vendor object on the supplier object controls which vendors have access to the material.
Use Case
You can test this use case by performing the following steps:
1. As a non-vendor, set up test data that a vendor should be able to see.
2. Make sure that the vendor is associated to a supplier, and that the supplier has associated materials.
3. Log into the system as the vendor.
4. On the side navigation bar, click Material.
The system displays the Find: Material page. This page is identical to the Find: Material page for non-vendors; however, the Supplier criteria is missing, as a vendor should never be able to view or search for another supplier’s materials.
Executing the search is consistent with searches of a non-vendor user.
Any available links, including those on subsequent pages, follow permissions in the Type and Attribute Management utility.
