Determine the Upgrade Impact for Existing Templates
If you are upgrading from 10.1 M040 or 10.1 M050 to 10.2 M030 or later, you must update and test workflow process templates.
1. Export the workflow templates from the 10.1 source system and import them to the target development environment.
2. Update the workflow templates on the target system (as needed) to ensure all the referenced classes are valid due to model changes.

◦ Workflow assigned activity variables
◦ Workflow expression robot source code
3. Test all updated workflow templates and resolve all issues, including failure to import, failure to instantiate a process instance, and failure to step through the workflow process.
4. Export all updated workflow templates from the target system.
