OData services only enforce the attribute constraints that are defined on the Constraints tab of an attribute in the Type and Attribute Management utility. Other attribute properties (such as Default Value, Editable on Create, Editable on Update, and so on) are not enforced during create or update operations. These properties must be enforced by the client before submitting the request.
