For any rule that grants modify access to retail documents, modify content access must also be granted. If this access is not granted, the end user can still update the documents within PTC FlexPLM as long as they do not alter the content. If users try to modify the content of a document without modify content access, they receive an access error.

Currently, PTC FlexPLM expects both modify and modify content to be granted together, so if modify content is not granted, the widgets for updating content are not disabled.
