On-Prem Advanced Model Targets and Vuforia Studio
*
You must be running both Vuforia Studio and Experience Service 10.0.0 or later in order to use On-Prem Advanced Model Targets.
On-Prem Advanced Model Targets function similarly to Advanced Model Targets, allowing detection and tracking from any angle of the matched object. These targets are designed for developers who want to utilize Advanced Model Targets without the need to upload their 3D CAD data to the cloud. For more detailed information, see On-Prem Advanced Model Targets in the Vuforia Developer Library.
In Vuforia Studio, On-Prem Advanced Model Targets can be generated on your on-premises Experience Service without having to send your CAD model to the secure Vuforia cloud for training.
*
When using Vuforia Studio 10.1.0 or later, On-Prem Advanced Model Targets will still work even if they are disabled on the Experience Service. In that case, Vuforia Studio will generate the Model Target locally using your computer’s processing power.
Requirements
The following are Experience Service requirements are necessary when using On-Prem Advanced Model Targets (Beta) with Vuforia Studio:
Platform
Requirements
All platforms
Multi-core CPU:
Minimum—2 CPU Cores (physical)
Recommended—4 CPU Cores (physical)
Linux
Ubuntu 22 or later
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9.4 or later
Required packages:
libgles2
libegl1
Windows
Windows Server 2022 or later
Additional Required Experience Service Configurations
Since On-Prem Model Target generation is handled by the Experience Service, it’s important to allow the process to complete without interruption. To ensure successful generation, we recommend increasing the timeout settings on your Experience Service for both for Model Target generation and for general web requests.
Configure the following target generation parameter for the Experience Service: targetGenerator.timeout: 300000
Configure the server setting for Connection idle timeout to 5 minutes (300s)
