Error When Upgrading on Windows Server 2016
Issue
Solution
When upgrading a Windows Server 2016 Experience Service installation, the following error occurs
Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly. Error renaming C:/ptc/studio-es to C:/ptc/.restore
This error occurs because an unknown process has an open file handle for one of the directories or files inside the original Experience Service install directory.
To allow the installation to proceed, identify the application that has the open file handle and close that application. If you are unable to identify the application that has the open file handle, reboot the machine. After the file handle has been closed or the machine has been rebooted, restart the installer.
Sensitive Information is Not Encrypted After Upgrading Experience Service
Issue
Solution
After upgrading an Experience Service that has a configuration file with encrypted sensitive information, the sensitive information is no longer encrypted.
Once the upgrade is complete, re-encrypt the information.
Problems When Experience Service is Deployed Behind a Proxy
Issue
Solution
The IP address included in log messages is the IP address of the proxy instead of the IP address of the client that sent the request.
Make sure that the trustProxy parameter is configured correctly so that the proxy is treated as a known, trusted proxy.
The protocol used for experience URLs uses the Experience Service protocol instead of the protocol used by the proxy.
Make sure that the trustProxy parameter is set equal to a value other than false.
