Scan Barcodes and QR Codes for Serial ID Entry
|
As Vuforia Vantage leverages Vuforia Engine for barcode scanning capabilities for iOS, Android, and HoloLens devices, see Barcodes in the Vuforia Developer Library for supported barcode types.
For information about RealWear barcode scanning capabilities and supported types, see Barcode Reader Intents in the RealWear documentation.

When entering a serial ID in Vuforia Vantage, you can use the scan icon in the upper-right corner to scan a barcode or QR code on the physical object that you’re working with. Once a code is scanned, the Serial ID box will be populated.
After tapping the scan icon, you’ll be prompted to scan a barcode or QR code. To return to text entry, tap the keyboard icon in the upper-left corner.
Once the barcode or QR code is identified, a success message is displayed.
| It’s recommended that you verify that the serial ID identified is accurate before continuing. |
From the success message, you can choose to continue to the first step in the procedure, rescan the code, or go back to the text entry to manually edit the serial ID.
Best Practices
• To avoid potential errors, make sure to verify that the scanned value is correct before moving forward in the procedure.
• If the scanned value persists to present an error, use the manual entry option to edit or enter the value.
• Scanning functionality is optimized for single barcode or QR codes. Therefore, make sure to cover up any other barcodes or QR codes that may in the view of the camera. This ensures that the appropriate code is scanned.
