Vuforia Instruct and Vuforia Expert Capture Consolidation
As of the May 2023 release, all current Vuforia Instruct features and capabilities will be consolidated with Vuforia Expert Capture to create a one-stop solution for your AR work instructions.
Why the Consolidation
The decision to consolidate Vuforia Expert Capture and Vuforia Instruct was based on customer feedback we received that it would be beneficial to integrate the two tools to make it easier to create visual guides and capture expert knowledge in one solution—Vuforia Expert Capture.
What to Expect with the May 2023 Release

New Customers
|
Existing Vuforia Instruct or Vuforia Expert Capture Customers
|
|
Brand new customers will immediately have access to all Capture and 3D CAD capabilities within Vuforia Expert Capture. There will be no need to request access to certain functionality.
|
|
|
Newly available features will NOT be enabled by default.
|
Customers who have active licenses for Vuforia Expert Capture, Vuforia Instruct, or both products will have access to all features (including Step Check) via Vuforia Editor, Vuforia Capture and Vuforia Vantage applications upon request.
To request that Vuforia Instruct or Vuforia Expert Capture capabilities be enabled for your organization, contact your Customer Success representative or Provider Partner.

New Capabilities Available (Existing customers only)
The table below explains new capabilities that will be available (upon request) to current Vuforia Instruct and Vuforia Expert Capture customers upon the merge.

If you are a customer with both Vuforia Instruct and Vuforia Expert Capture, you should expect no changes to your Vuforia Editor environment.

After the merge, the following new features and capabilities will be available to you:
• Ability to upload and use 3D models in procedures
• Add markers to a model to draw attention to the important parts and areas of the model
• Enable Step Check for steps in your procedures
• Use the 3D Editor Pane to work with 3D Models

After the merge, the following new features and capabilities will be available to you:
• Ability to capture a procedure with Vuforia Capture
• Place location markers in your captured procedure on HoloLens 2 devices
• Ability to import Capture files into Vuforia Editor
• Use the Capture Viewer Pane to edit your Captures
