Configure Communication Settings in Analytics Builder
Analytics Builder must be configured to communicate with a specific AnalyticsServer Thing in ThingWorx Foundation. To configure this connection, follow the steps below.
1. Before configuring the settings, make sure that your ThingWorx Analytics Server is running and verify that the Things created at installation are present in ThingWorx Composer and connected to the Analytics Server.
2. Log into ThingWorx Composer as an administrator and click the Analytics menu icon () on the far left. Analytics Builder opens on the Models tab.
*
The administrator login name you use must be in the TW_AnalyticServer_Admin or Administrators group.
When the Analytics Builder opens for the first time, the following message is displayed: Please configure a ThingWorx Analytics Server instance.
3. In the left navigation panel click SETTINGS in the Analytics Builder menu. The ThingWorx Analytics Server Configuration page opens.
4. In the Analytics Server field on the left side of the page, click the selector icon to search for and select the AnalyticsServer Thing you want to connect to.
5. Click the check box if SSL is used on your ThingWorx Analytics Server.
6. In the Items Per Page field, enter a value to indicate the number of rows that should be displayed on list pages for Models, Profiles, Signals, Scoring, and Datasets. The maximum is 100.
7. In the Significant Digits to Display for Average Goal field, enter the number of decimal places you want to display when the Average Goal value is displayed.
8. Click the Verify Configuration button.
If the connection is successful, the Analytics Server Version and a list of its available datasets will be displayed on the right side of the page.
If the connection is unsuccessful, nothing will be displayed on the right. Check to ensure that both ThingWorx Foundation and ThingWorx Analytics are running.
9. Click Save to save the configuration settings.

The Analytics Server that you configure here is the same server that the model is uploaded to while performing predictive scoring in Analytics Manager.
