Add New Log Sheet
General
Fabrication log sheets allow operators to enter measurements during execution. Authors can define attributes for data entry and import limits to provide feedback to the operator.
Click + Log Sheet to create a new log sheet. The display will be replaced with the multi-step Add New Log Sheet interface.
Step One: General Information
Complete the following:
1. Log Sheet Name (required) – Enter a unique log sheet name. Up to 50 characters are allowed.
2. Document Family (required) – Select a single document family from the dropdown.
3. Log Sheet Expiry (optional) – Select a date for log sheet expiry. After this date, the log sheet will no longer be shown to operators, and will need to be re-approved for use.
4. Click Save.
5. Click Next or navigate to the Attributes tab.
Step Two: Log Sheet Attributes
On this step, define attributes for data entry. Configured attributes will appear as the list below.
Add New Attributes
1. Click + Add New in the action toolbar to launch the Add New Attribute to Log Sheet popup.
2. Complete the following:
a. Name (required) – Enter a unique name
b. Display Name (required)
c. Unit of Measure (optional)
3. Click Save. The popup will remain open to add more attributes. Click Cancel to exit.
Edit Attributes
Attributes can be edited once created, with some limitations:
Only the Name and Display Name fields can be modified.
To edit an attribute, select it in the list and click Edit in the action toolbar.
Disable/Enable Attributes
Attributes cannot be deleted from a log sheet. However, disabled attributes will not be shown to operators. To disable an attribute, select it in the list and click Disable.
Only enabled attributes are shown in the list by default. To view disabled attributes, toggle Show Disabled.
Click Next to go to Step Three.
Limits
Limits can now be viewed by clicking Limits in the action toolbar. This will open the dedicated Limits display within Characteristic configuration with filters prepopulated to display the most pertinent information.

Step Three: Version Information
Comments can be made on versions of Log Sheets. This step is optional.
1. Enter any comment or note that is relevant to the version of the work instruction.
2. Click Save.
3. Click Cancel to return to the Document list
