Solution ID

Unique ID for your solution. Format for Solution ID: <Group ID>.<Artifact ID>.<Solution Version>

Instance

An installation of the ThingWorx platform.

Azure Tenant

A dedicated and trusted instance of Azure Active Directory that is automatically created when your organization signs up for a Microsoft cloud service subscription. An Azure tenant represents a single organization.

Azure Active Directory

Each Azure tenant has a dedicated and trusted Azure Active Directory that includes the tenant's users, groups, and apps. This directory is used to perform identity and access management functions for tenant resources.

Project

A collection of entities, services, and related objects that make up and represent a solution. Projects are used to organize entities within ThingWorx.

Project Dependencies

A list of other projects that the project depends on.

Extension Dependencies

A list of extensions that the project depends on.

Publish

To copy a solution into the Solution Central repository.

Package

To assemble a collection of entities, services, and related objects that make up and represent a solution.

Deploy

To install a solution onto a ThingWorx instance.

Request Deployment

To request the deployment of a solution from Solution Central to a ThingWorx instance.

Developer

A user who creates solutions, packages the solution's project, and publishes the solution to Solution Central.

Global Administrator

A user who oversees the distribution of solutions from Solution Central across an enterprise, including requesting the deployment of solutions to specific ThingWorx instances.

Site Administrator

A user who oversees one or more ThingWorx instances at an individual site, including the registration of those instances with Solution Central, and the deployment of solutions from Solution Central to those instances.
