PTC support for ThingWorx’s Web Socket Tunnel widget extension ended in September 2021 and is no longer available for download from PTC’s download portal. Functionality provided by the ThingWorx Web Socket Tunnel widget is available Using the RemoteAccessClientLinker Widget. The Web Socket Tunnel widget provides Remote Access to the machine where the ThingWorx Edge MicroServer is installed using Web Sockets. This allows browsers that support web sockets to create remote desktop tunnels without the need for any additional plug-ins or downloads.
You must still have a remote tunnel server, such as VNC, installed on the Edge machine.
To use the Web Sockets Tunnel widget, download and import the WebSocketTunnel_ExtensionPackage.zip. The package imports the following into ThingWorx:
