Overview of Enterprise Operations
An enterprise operation represents a collection of steps to be performed on a work center for a product being produced. Generally, an operator is assigned a list of enterprise operations to be executed on their work center for a given shift. The View Work Instructions task allows operators to search for enterprise operations, select one from the search results, and then see content for that enterprise operation.
Enterprise operations are not modeled in Windchill MPMLink, so you as the administrator must identify the operations in your Windchill system that represent enterprise operations. The Windchill base type of an enterprise operation can be Operation or Standard Operation.
We support the following configuration options to identify and retrieve enterprise operations from Windchill:
• Define the level of the process plan that represents the enterprise operation. In this case, all operations at a given level of a process plan are enterprise operations.
• Define a mapping of Windchill soft types that represent an enterprise operation. In this case, a specific soft type indicates that a given operation is an enterprise operation.
• Define a mapping of Windchill soft attributes that represent an enterprise operation. In this case, a specific soft attribute indicates that a given operation is an enterprise operation.
You can configure one or more of the configuration options listed above. If no option is configured, level one of the process plan is treated as the enterprise operation.
