ThingWorx Azure IoT Hub Connector for Microsoft Azure Industrial IoT (IIoT) for OPC UA > Step 6. Setting Permissions for Non-Administrative Users
Step 6. Setting Permissions for Non-Administrative Users
PTC strongly recommends using a non-administrative user account for the Azure IoT Hub Connector to connect to ThingWorx. The following steps assume that you have followed the steps in Step 4. Create Security Entities for the Connector when setting up the Connector. You use the non-administrator user, called "ConnectorUser" that you created for the Connector to use when accessing ThingWorx, as well as the organization created in that step, called "ConnectorOrganization". The "ConnectorUser" must be associated with the application key that the Connector uses to authenticate with the ThingWorx Platform. If you followed the steps in Minimal Configuration for Connecting to a ThingWorx Platform in Single-Server Mode, you specified the application key in the Connector configuration file.
1. Go to your Industrial Gateway Thing and select Permissions:
a. For Visibility: Add ConnectorOrganization.
b. Run Time: Add ConnectorUser.
Enable: Property Read, Property Write, Service Execute.
c. Save the Thing
2. Go to your Remote Things that bind properties to UA nodes at the edge and set the following permissions:
a. Visibility: Add ConnectorOrganization.
b. Run Time: Add ConnectorUser.
Enable: Property Read, Property Write, Service Execute.
3. Save each Thing as you set the permissions for it.
