What happens to updates sent during loss of connectivity between a Connector and a ThingWorx Platform?
When the ThingWorx Platform is shut down, the Azure IoT Hub Connector will reconnect after the platform is revived. However, while the communication between the platform and the Connector is disrupted, messages cannot flow to the platform and are lost. That said, if changes occur on Azure IoT after the ThingWorx Platform goes offline and before it comes back online, resynchronization occurs such that the platform receives those changes once it is back online. The next three sections briefly describe these types of changes.
Device Twin/Module Twin Changes
If device twin or module twin changes occur while the ThingWorx Platform is shut down, the twin in the platform is synchronized with the Azure IoT twin once the connection between the platform and the Connector is re-established.
Property Updates
If property updates occur while the ThingWorx Platform is shut down, these updates from the Edge are processed once the connection between the platform and the Connector is re-established
Connector Log Output
When the Azure IoT Hub Connector loses its connection to the ThingWorx Platform, the Connector logs the following messages:
