ThingWorx Rockwell FactoryTalk MES Integration Overview
At a high level, the ThingWorx Rockwell FactoryTalk MES integration performs the following activities:
1. The plant model object information is retrieved from the Rockwell FactoryTalk MES system by type, including the parent of each object in the plant model object structure.
2. Things and value streams are created in ThingWorx for each plant model object, using the Thing Template mapped for each plant model object type.
3. The converted Things are added to a ThingWorx network, recreating the equipment structure from the Rockwell FactoryTalk MES system.
The services and mapping information used in this process flow in ThingWorx are found on the equipment converter Thing (PTC.RA.EquipmentConverter).
