CSV File Format
The CSV files used in a CSV bundle must follow a specified format. This section covers the files contained in a CSV bundle and the required format for each of the files.
CSV Bundle Structure
A CSV bundle has the following structure:
The following files and folders are processed during data loading:
properties.csv file – Contains general properties
DataScripts folder – Contains CSV files for the following entities:
Product Hierarchy in producthierarchy.csv
Information Structure in toc.csv
Product Instance in productinstance.csv
Parts in part.csv
Parts lists in assembly.csv
Part relations in part_relations.csv
Hotspots information in hotspot.csv
Product instance (BOM) information in bom.csv
BOM collection information in bomcollections.csv
Option and choice information in OptionsChoiceDefinition.csv
Option and choice rules for a context in OptionsChoices_Applicablity.csv
Mapping folder – Contains mapping CSV files for the following content:
Images in images.csv
XML documents in xml.csv
PDF documents in pdf.csv
GRAPHIC documents in graphic.csv
PDF folder – Contains all PDF files that are referenced in the PDF mapping file.
Images folder – Contains all images that are referenced in the image mapping file.
XML folder – Contains all XML files that are referenced in the XML mapping file.
GRAPHIC folder – Contains all graphic files that are referenced in the GRAPHIC mapping file.
Note that non-IS associated information elements (IE-PDF, IE-XMLs, or IE-GRAPHICS) are located in the IE related folder. For example, XML files not associated with an information structure are located in the XML folder.
A parts list must be provided along with the related information, including parts and hotspot information.
*
For any CSV file that contains the Org Name column, the Bookmarks and Notes information is not migrated when the you need to TAL the data again and the Org Name is provided as input.
General Properties
The CSV bundle contains the properties.csv file with the following general information and properties.
*
The column format is provided using regular expressions. It is assumed you are familiar with regular expressions
CSV Column
Description
Required / Optional
Format
Creation Date
Provides the script creation date, for example, 03-24-2011.
*
The Creation Date column requires that the date be provided in a pre-defined mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm format. This requires pre-configuration of local settings on the server side.
Required
Timestamp
Org Name
The Organization Name provides the Vendor Code. This is mapped in the IMAN file.
Optional
String
CollectionID
Provides the collection IDs that these CSV files describe. Can contain multiple values to which the data will be loaded.
If collection is not provided, the system looks for the context ID.
This CollectionID is the Collection ID used in Servigistics InService.
This CollectionID will be connected to a level in the Product Hierarchy. There must be a match between the CollectionID and a node in the ProductHierarchy.csv file.
Optional
String
IsAuthoredDoc
Provides the default language, for example, en-US.
Required
String
ContextIDs
Provides a semi-colon separated list of all contexts applicable for the bundle. The system uses this information to resolve the mapping to the collections.
If the Context is not provided, the toc.csv file must be provided in the bundle. Otherwise, the bundle load will fail due to missing context or collection.
If both Collection and Context are provided, the system uses a union of both.
Optional
String
Product Hierarchy
The CSV bundle contains the producthierarchy.csv file with the following information for creating the Product Structure:
CSV Column
Description
Required / Optional
Format
Toc Code
Provides a unique code for this PH entity

Possible values: first, last, or a number.
Is not used in release 6.3.
first|last - for example 1-9

Optional
See Description
Note the following about the product hierarchy (PH) data:
You can load and combine multiple product hierarchy files originating from different sources (for example, SIM and CSV inputs).
The prioritization for loading the different sources is determined in the IMAN configuration file (IMANConfig.xml). All product hierarchy files will be merged at the root level.
You can load and support as many product hierarchy levels as needed.
The last level in the PH will be the Model. All Model related functionality should work.
Product hierarchy levels are set in producthierarchy.csv, and the Information Structure levels are part of the toc.csv. You can set as many PH and IS levels as needed.
For every Collection, the product hierarchy CSV and the Supporting Images and Image Mapping file must be duplicated and reused for each Collection.
The logical expressions allowed in the Applicability column are restricted. The filters in the Servigistics InService interface display the options and choices that are applicable to the current PH context. Usually, the system displays the options and choices that are common in both the definition for the PH context and the logical expression defined in the PH node. To support this during the transformation of the PH, there is a restriction on the type of logical expression that can be used.
Simple logical expressions with the AND operation are supported. For example: (AND (IS ‘region’ ‘india’ ‘us’) (IS ‘color’ ‘white’ ‘blue’) … ). This expression says the region is India or the US AND the color is white or blue.
The following types of logical expressions are not supported:
Complex logical expressions with AND and OR operations
For example: (OR (AND (IS ‘region’ ‘india’) (IS ‘color’ ‘white’ )) (AND (IS ‘region’ ‘us’) (IS ‘color’ ‘blue’ )) … ).
Numeric comparison operations such as LESS THEN or GREATER THEN
Logical expressions with NOT operations
