Automatic Re-indexing
As of the Servigistics InService 6.4 release, the process of re-indexing when there are asset changes has been automated. The manual changes needed for scripts and the creation of a segment level profile are no longer required.
Two tasks have been added to the Task Manager UI to perform re-indexing process when there are Asset changes. If there are any Asset changes, run the RefreshAssetsInPM and DeployAssets tasks.
RefreshAssetsInPM - This task takes Assets path as an input parameter. This task loads new Assets to Publication Manager. Whenever there are Asset changes you must run this task.
DeployAssets - This task required two input parameters:
Site_groups - The name of the Site Group.
Reset_index - This setting is “false” by default. There is no need to set this flag to “true”. The framework is optimized to do re-indexing of only changed types.
*
This flag can be changed to “true” when you want to re-index all types irrespective of if it was changed or not (for example: BOM filtration). However, this is not recommended.
This task triggers DeployCollection tasks one per segment with segment level profile. DeployCollection task deploy new Assets to sites and re-index changed types.
