Servigistics InService Deployment > Deploying Viewers in a Cluster

Deploying Viewers in a Cluster
Viewers that are deployed in a cluster are different from monolithic or split configurations in the following ways:
1. Clustered Viewers share a Work directory.
2. Each coreServer needs an independent folder within the shared Work directory.
3. Clustered Viewers share a E3C Storage (or Data) directory.
*
In multi–site cluster configurations the additional Viewers need to reference the LDAP of the first site.
*
For information on Split Configuration see Split Server Configuration Steps.
The following notes list the infrastructure details used in this deployment scenario:
Object
Scenario
Load Balancer
The load balancer routes to one of four Viewers.
Viewers
Two of the Viewers are designated to be in data center 1 (DC1), while the other two servers are in data center 2 (DC2)
E3C Storage Locations
Each data center has a E3C storage location.
The E3C storage location is the Data directory set during installation.
This E3C storage location must be mounted and accessible so that all Viewers can access it as if it is a hard drive location.
Viewers in DC1 only use the E3C repository in DC1. Viewers in DC2 only use the E3C repository in DC2.
TAL content
There is one Publisher to TAL content for all Viewers.
E3C
The following details pertain to the E3C configuration:
There are 2 coreServer processes per Viewer.
There is one coreServer load balancer per Viewer.
Each coreServer load balancer can route to any coreServers in its data center.
There is only one coreCMI process per data center.
Windchill
The following details pertain to the Windchill configuration:
All Viewers (in all data centers) operate within one Windchill–based cluster.
The Publisher is NOT part of the Windchill cluster.
Oracle
15 oracle schemas are needed for this deployment:
5 schemas for Viewers. E3C, CMI, Titan, and Titan2. The fifth schema is for Windchill.
5 schemas for viewers in DC2. E3C, CMI, Titan, and Titan2. Fifth schema is for Windchill. However, after installation, viewers in DC2 will be configured to reference the Windchill schema established in DC1 (as part of the Windchill cluster configuration). The DC2 temp windchill schema can be discarded afterwards.
5 schemas for the Publisher. E3C, CMI, Titan, Titan2 and Windchill (this Windchill schema is used only by the Publisher).
Windchill Directory Server
Two WindchillDS installations are sufficient for clustering testing:
One on the Publisher, for the Publisher.
One on a Viewer, to be access by all Viewers.
Other information
Other deployment information:
Each server (Publisher and Viewer type) uses port 8080
Two coreServers on each Viewer.
1. On each server, coreServer #1 port = 2031
2. On each server, coreServer #2 port = 2032
Core CMI process runs on one server per DC, using port 2010
Each coreServer load balancer uses port 2020
