Smart Card Integration
Salesforce integrates with smart card readers to enable PIV authentication using smart cards for GovCloud. This allows you to use PIV as an authenticator. This set up provides PIV authentication for sensitive information.
• The Smart Card device application must support the IDP configuration.
• Salesforce must redirect the authentication to the IDP, which authenticates with the Smart Card.
• Once the Smart Card authentication is completed, the device must redirect the session information back to Salesforce, which authenticates the Org.
