Session Auto Refresh
Session Auto Refresh option determines if the user's session is validated automatically at a pre-determined interval, usually several times per hour. The default value of this setting is ON. If the setting is ON, the user's session is validated automatically. If the setting is OFF, automatic periodic validation of user's session is not performed and the session stays active for as long as the access token is valid.
When Login IP restrictions are setup in Salesforce org, error message about invalid / expired session is displayed under the following conditions, though the session initiated during the initial sync had a long validity period:
User did initial sync connecting from corporate network.
Then the user connected to the Field Service App using an external network such as 3G.
To avoid the session error message in the above scenario, this setting must be set to OFF.

Session Auto Refresh option is supported in FSA for iPad and FSA for Android Tablets only.
