Connection – Login Host and Custom Host
This Login Host setting is used to choose the type of org you are connecting. It is required to determine the login URL.
The following three options are available.
• Production: Connects to https://login.salesforce.com
• Sandbox: Connects to https://test.salesforce.com
• Custom Host: Choose this if your org has a custom domain
Custom Host If you have chosen Custom Host for the Login Host setting, set this to the URL of your Salesforce instance. When you enter invalid URL, an alert message is displayed.
For Partner Portal users using the Custom Host option, define a custom domain and specify the custom domain URL instead of the URL to the Salesforce instance. This is because the URL with the Salesforce instance has parameters such as orgId and portalId, and such URLs are not supported by the Field Service App.
An example of custom domain URL is https://mycompany-fieldservicedomain.na6.salesforce.com.
