Since ServiceMax is a native application built and hosted on the Force.com platform, knowing basic Salesforce administration and standard capabilities of Salesforce applications would be beneficial. This includes familiarity with navigation, creating, updating, and deleting records, generating reports and dashboards, and managing users, profiles, and sharing settings.

To become familiar with the Salesforce environment, visit Salesforce.com education online (select Services, then Training) and use the interactive introductory online presentations.

The package install error is caused when you hit the 250 MB limit, which is internal to Salesforce. The size of static resources bundled in the ServiceMax package v23.2 is approximately 102 MB. This means other additional components take the rest of the space and cross the 250 MB limit.

To resolve this issue, contact your Account Executive or open a ticket with Salesforce to increase the limit.
